Meet Luke
To say Luke Kintigh has roots in the Northwest would be an understatement. Luke grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Cottage Grove, Oregon and when he was 8 years old, helped his grandfather present a Christmas tree to president George H.W. Bush at the White House. It might be said that this trip led Luke into an early career in politics. Luke’s resume includes stints in Congress, Oregon state legislature and U.S. Senate, where he was the Press Secretary for Senator Gordon Smith.
While Luke’s resume may seem intimidating, he isn’t. A diehard Oregon Duck and Portland Trailblazer fan, Luke can tell you the mascot of almost every college sports team. This might seem like quite the feat, but, while Luke was at Northwest University he earned All-Conference honors in track and field, ranking 2nd all-time in school history in the high jump and discus.
A recent graduate of the University of Oregon’s strategic communication master’s program, Luke’s most recent background is as a leading Digital Media Strategist for political and business clients. He has experience in nearly every facet of the digital arena, ranging from online advertising and email marketing campaigns to developing customized Facebook and Twitter strategies.
Always striving for the next big shift in the social media landscape, Luke has conducted extensive research on location based services (LBS) such as Foursquare, GoWalla and Facebook Places. His innovative research focused on analyzing the primary motivations and barriers for LBS adoption as well as how businesses can utilize this new technology to better engage customers.
When Luke isn’t learning about the latest innovations in tech, he can be found herding his two cats, Reagan and Madison, enjoying the great outdoors, or spending time with his new bride, Jackie.
